tecnologia digital.
cumpridas todas as etapas do Planeamento em Saúde.
Resultados: Os Cuidadores Informais que participaram no projeto eram
maioritariamente do sexo feminino, cônjuge, reformado, 36% idosos, e apresentaram
contribuindo para a promoção da saúde.ntroduction: Informal Caregivers are an essential element in the continuity of care at
home and it is necessary to invest in their enablement. Digital Health Literacy is one
of the strategies to be used for self- care and health management, contributing to
Health Promotion. The nursing interventions, anchored in Nola Pender's Health
Promotion Model and in Sørensen's Integrated Conceptual Model of Health Literacy,
allowed for a systematized practice.
Objective: Contribute to the Health Literacy of Informal Caregivers, through digital
technology.
Methodology: The Health Planning methodology was used. For the diagnosis of the
situation, three data collection instruments were used: Questionnaire for the diagnosis
of the caregivers' knowledge about the resources in the community; LS survey: HLS19
– Q12; satisfaction questionnaire for Informal Caregivers on the use of the
CUIDAGEST platform. The sample was non-probabilistic, for convenience, consisting
of seventeen informal caregivers. The project took place in a UCC, between
September 2022 and February 2023, with all stages of Health Planning having been
completed.
Results: The Informal Caregiver were mostly female with an adequate level of literacy,
being the spouse retired and 36% of an elderly age. They had no knowledge of
information resources, support for dependent people and social support. They referred
wanting to improve their health literacy, mentioning the platforms as a contribution to
this increase.
Conclusion: The needs of informal caregiver make digital technology an opportunity
for health professionals to transmit clear, objective, and reliable health information,
contributing to their enablement. Knowing the level of health literacy to those providing
care allows effective nursing interventions, contributing to health promotion
Characterisation of microbial attack on archaeological bone
As part of an EU funded project to investigate the factors influencing bone preservation in the archaeological record, more than 250 bones from 41 archaeological sites in five countries spanning four climatic regions were studied for diagenetic alteration. Sites were selected to cover a range of environmental conditions and archaeological contexts. Microscopic and physical (mercury intrusion porosimetry) analyses of these bones revealed that the majority (68%) had suffered microbial attack. Furthermore, significant differences were found between animal and human bone in both the state of preservation and the type of microbial attack present. These differences in preservation might result from differences in early taphonomy of the bones. © 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved
